Trout

Catch and Release for nature preservation

Trout is the most common fish you'll catch during your time in Chile.
The most populous species of trout in the waters of the Cordillera of the Andes are: Arco Iris, Fario and Fontinalis.
If you're lucky, you may also catch the Trout Percha, a more unusual fish.

The trout feed on soft invertebrates such as worms, insects and crustaceans. Some larger specimens of Brown Trout and Arco Iris also prey on smaller fish.

Fishing Chile guides will advise you on the best types of fly to use on each separate occasion, so you can have the greatest trout-fishing experience.
